“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.”
― Vincent Van Gogh While Van Gogh did not study Christian Science (to my best knowledge), I do love this quote! This quote reminds me of the following metaphysical ideas (the brackets are my own inserts) that remind us why we love nature and why we find Beauty everywhere: "Metaphysics resolves things into thoughts, and exchanges the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul. [Soul being another word for God.] These ideas are perfectly real and tangible to spiritual consciousness, and they have this advantage over the objects and thoughts of material sense, — they are good and eternal."
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 269:14–20) "Nature voices natural, spiritual law and divine Love, but human belief misinterprets nature. Arctic regions, sunny tropics, giant hills, winged winds, mighty billows, verdant vales, festive flowers, and glorious heavens, — all point to Mind, the spiritual intelligence they reflect. The floral apostles are hieroglyphs of Deity. Suns and planets teach grand lessons. The stars make night beautiful, and the leaflet turns naturally towards the light." (SH p. 240:1) If you'd like, make an effort to notice nature more this week (and always!) and all that it represents -- Being the very ideas and evidence of Mind. These ideas reveal to us Love's presence. Have a great evening,
Elaina
